Unraveling the Mystique
Kedar Tal trek is one of the more technical treks meant for the trekkers who always seek the tougher challenge. It is located near & starts from Gangotri Dham, Uttarkashi and leads to a mesmerizing lake situated next to Kedar Bamak Glacier right at the doorstep of the enormous Thalay Sagar and Brigupanth Peak. Described as one of the most beautiful high altitude lakes in India at a height of 15,583 ft it provides for a different perspective of the Gangotri temple & surrounding areas along with numerous breathtaking views.

Historical Significance: Kedartal is believed to be the holy place where Lord Shiva meditated, making it a sacred pilgrimage site for Hindus.

The nearest Interstate Bus Station is in Dehradun, Haridwar or Rishikesh and the Bus Station/Depot is in Uttarkashi. Reach Dehradun, Haridwar or Rishikesh from Delhi or Uttarkashi from Dehradun, Haridwar or Rishikesh (direct buses are available).
Shared taxi or direct bus to Gangotri every morning from Dehradun, Haridwar or Dehradun (especially during summers & Chardham Yatra).
Shared taxi & bus to Uttarkashi frequently from RIshikesh, Haridwar or Dehradun every morning. Take a shared taxi or bus to Gangotri from Uttarkashi.
Or you can directly hire a taxi to Kedartal Base-station, Gangotri from Haridwar, Rishikesh, Delhi or Dehradun.
Important note: The frequency of direct public transport from Dehradun, Rishikesh, Haridwar to Gangotri is very low but comparatively to Uttarkashi is moderately okay.
