Rupin Pass takes you on a journey from the state of Uttarakhand to Himachal Pradesh. With an altitude of 15,250 ft in the surreal Himalayan mountain range it keeps throwing a surprise by ever changing scenery at every turn.

Historical Significance: The Rupin Pass was historically used as a trade route between the villages of the Rupin Valley and the Kinnaur region of Himachal Pradesh.

Day 6: Waterfall Camp to Ronti Gad via Rupin Pass

Detailed Itinerary

Dehradun to Dhaula via Mori

Pick-up from Dehradun in the morning.
Drive Distance: 195 Kms | Duration: 6-7 Hrs
At Netwar, stop for a sight of ancient temple of Pokhu Devta.
Arrive in Dhaula, a scenic village located in the Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand.
Spend the day acclimatizing to the altitude and exploring the picturesque surroundings.
Overnight stay in a guesthouse in Dhaula.

Jakha to Suruwas Thach

Begin your trek towards Suruwas Thach after breakfast.
Ascend gradually through alpine meadows and rhododendron forests, with occasional glimpses of snow-capped peaks.
Cross gushing streams and pristine rivers along the way, refreshing yourself in their crystal-clear waters.
Trek along the river to arrive at Rupin Valleys' entrance.
Sight of Rupin waterfall.
Set up camp and spend the evening relaxing and enjoying the tranquility of the Himalayas.

Suruwas Thach to Upper Waterfall Camp

Resume your trek towards Upper Waterfall Camp after breakfast.
Trek through snowfields and rocky terrain, with the sound of cascading waterfalls in the distance.
Cross the iconic Rupin Pass, a high-altitude mountain pass that offers breathtaking views of the Himalayas.
Descend towards Upper Waterfall Camp, where you'll set up camp for the night amidst stunning scenery.

Waterfall Camp to Ronti Gad via Rupin Pass

Wake up early to start the ascend to the Rupin Pass.
Most difficult & technical stretch of the trek including snowfields & rocky path.
Trek through alpine meadows and dense forests, with occasional sightings of wildlife such as Himalayan blue sheep and musk deer.
Spend some time at the top with Himalayan views including Kinner Kailash summit.
Reach Ronti Gad by late afternoon and set up camp for the night.

The nearest Interstate Bus Station is in Dehradun and the Bus Station/Depot is in Mussoorie/Vikasnagar. Reach Dehradun from Delhi, Haridwar or Rishikesh (direct buses are available).

Shared taxi & bus to Sankri/Mori/Purola every morning.
Direct bus or shared taxi to Mori, Sankri or Purola. Step-down at Purola and take a shared taxi for Mori.
Direct bus or shared taxi to Mussoorie. Catch a direct shared taxi to Purola or Mori.
Or you can directly hire a taxi to Rupin Pass Base-station, Mori from Haridwar, Rishikesh, Delhi or Dehradun.

Important note: The frequency of direct public transport from Dehradun to Mori is very low.

By Train to Rupin Pass Base-station, Mori: The nearest railway station is Dehradun.
By Flight to Rupin Pass Base-station, Mori: The nearest airport is Dehradun Airport.
